Season 8 Worlds brought us some incredible action, especially for NA and European fans. But I have to say, as exciting as the games were, the opening ceremony and especially the performance of K/DA POP/STARS has essentially consumed my life for the last week. One of my favorite things about the LOL community is the fan, and, I guess this kind of…professional? art that emerges. Music made for League isn’t new, and I thought Rise was great, but this song seems to really be taking over. I can’t get enough, so here…you should have some, too.

Armor of the Fifth Age Taric Cosplay
Cosplay Background For a while now I’ve wanted to jump into the fun world of cosplay. I’ve been interested in non-traditional/editorial makeup for a while, but I really got the bug when I designed and built a few costumes for Mardi Gras last year. I had such a great time building an idea from scratch that I wanted to do it more often than once a year. Additionally, I’ve always been pretty crafty and into DIY projects and artistic outlets. When I decided I wanted to learn how to play League of Legends and watch the LCS, I had a great opportunity to dive in to cosplay. Why Taric Besides…

LOLingo | Gank
Happy Friday! Are you ready for another exciting weekend of LCS play? I only started watching about mid-way through the current split, so I have tons of lingo to catch up on. One term I hear a lot, and I think you’ll probably hear at some point during any pro game is: GANK A gank is like an ambush attack, trying to find the enemy champions off guard. This is another term and concept that isn’t used too much by beginner players by me, but is definitely something you should be aware of if watching LCS.

LOLingo | GGWP
This isn’t something you hear so much as see, but if you read anything about LOL anywhere, you’ll see this abbreviation. GGWP Simply, “Good game, well played”. So, GGWP fellow newbies. Keep at it.

LOLingo | Pentakill
Yesterday I talked briefly about the Ace, and today’s word yields a similar result, yet is much more challenging to achieve. PENTAKILL When one player kills all 5 champions on the opposing team that results in 5-on-0 play, this is a pentakill. This is much more difficult to achieve than the Ace (which is achieved when multiple players contribute to the 5 kills). At this point I have enough trouble killing ONE champion in a game. Gonna be a long time, if ever, that I see a pentakill.

LOLingo | Ace
Today’s term is one that is pretty foreign to someone playing for the first time, but I hear and see it happen all the time in more advanced and professional play. ACE An ace is earned when all of the champions on one Team A are killed by Team B. It doesn’t matter who on Team B does the killing, and should not be confused with the much more difficult Pentakill. The Ace is credited to the player who makes the fifth and final kill. For now I’ll settle for a kill or two during an entire game!

LOLingo | Farm
This game has a ridiculous amount of lingo. In my attempt to figure out WTF is going on, I’m compiling a list of “LOL 101” terms. Let’s get started with one that any new player is probably familiar with: FARM Farming is, essentially, making as many kills (via last hits) as you can. You are rewarded for the last hit kill with gold. I mention this as a beginner-friendly concept because I seem to spend a whole lot of time in these early stages killing minions and filling up my bank account. Farming is a great skill to hone that you’ll need as you progress through the game and need…
